'Baahubali: Crown of Blood', an animated series, is going to stream on Disney Plus Hotstar from May 17. It has been produced by director SS Rajamouli, Sharad Devarajan, and Shobhu Yarlagadda. At an event hosted by Graphic India and Arka Media, the core team associated with the project spoke about it at length.

Gaurav Banerjee, Head of Content at Hotstar, said that they expect the animation series to be embraced not just by kids but also by adults.

When it was his turn, Rajamouli spoke of the rationale that made the series possible. He asserted that the backstory, character arcs, and aftermath for each character in the 'Baahubali' duology was baked into the original script. And that's what made the series possible. He implied that the 'Baahubali' universe will continue to expand. From cartoon books to gaming, we can expect everything and more. He also clarified that the upcoming series is neither a prequel nor a sequel. On the occasion, the 'RRR' director also said that he plans to make a full-fledged animation feature film for the silver screen sometime in the future.

Sharad Devarajan of Graphic India said that the drama, action, and intensity that we associated with a feature film can be expected from the series.

Producer Shobhu Yarlagadda said that the series will help them bring to the audience the breadth of the story of 'Baahubali'. "The popularity of Baahubali has given us courage. The series will entertain you just like the movie," he added.
