Does Simbu's donation to Telugu States have an 'OG' connection?

Kollywood actor Simbu on Tuesday hogged the headlines by donating Rs 6 lakh to the CM Relief Funds of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. His donation will be used for flood relief efforts. He is the only Tamil actor to have made a donation. His Kollywood colleagues who enjoy far greater popularity in the Telugu States haven't done so.

As per a gossip in the town, Simbu's donation has an 'OG' connection. Recently, Simbu recorded a short song for Pawan Kalyan's film. It was music director Thaman's call to borrow his offbeat voice for the song. Out of immense respect for the Deputy CM of AP, Simbu didn't charge any remuneration. Since DVV Entertainment and director Sujeeth requested him to accept their fee, Simbu accepted it and used the amount for the noble cause.

Whatever it is, Simbu has been appreciated for his gesture. In an interview in 2021, he said, "Many people wrote me off, but my fans have been with me. They have stood by me, supporting me in every way possible. It's their love that made me get up and come back. I stopped alcohol, I stopped consuming non-vegetarian food. I was always into eating Chicken 65 a lot but I quit it altogether."

'OG', starring Emraan Hashmi, Priyanka Mohan, Prakash Raj and others, will be a 2025 release.
