Hema says chargesheet doesn't name her, questions media

Telugu actress Hema, who was arrested on June 3 in connection with a rave party raid in Bengaluru, was recently reported to have been named in a chargesheet by the police. On Monday, she issued a video statement, claiming that the reports are totally fake.

Here is her statement:

"I myself haven't got to see the chargesheet yet. How come the media came to read it? A crime reporter working for a Telugu news channel is behind the fake news. When I confronted him, he shouted back at me the other day. He tried to evade me after I started asking for an explanation from him. Recently, I received a call from one of his assistants. I reiterated that the blood tests (done by authorities after the rave party) came back negative. He mumbled and snapped the call. Despite my clarification, the particular TV channel continues to report that I took drugs. I challenge the media, some of which are big names. I know some of the heads personally. Yet, their channels are telecasting false news about me. I have partied with reporters/anchors who work with popular TV channels. I urge the media elders and YouTubers to openly test my blood samples. If the report comes back positive, I will embrace whatever punishment you mete out to me. Because of your news reports, my 75-year-old mother grew overly anxious. Her health has deteriorated. She is a Kidney patient. We live for honour. I am ready to die for it."
