Chiranjeevi turned emotional about ANR National Award: Nagarjuna

The ANR National Award was instituted by the Akkineni International foundation in the honor of Akkineni Nageswara Rao in 2006. In ANR's birth centenary year (2024), the award will be given to Megastar Chiranjeevi.

Announcing the same on Friday, Nagarjuna said that Chiru turned emotional upon being delivered the news. "He hugged me and told me there can't be a bigger achievement for him. Amitabh Bachchan garu will confer the award on Chiranjeevi garu on October 28 at an event," the 'Bangarraju' and 'Naa Saami Ranga' actor said.

'ANR 100 – King Of The Silver Screen' is the name of the event being held to celebrate ANR's filmography. The festival will showcase 10 restored classics from September 20-22, across 25 Indian cities. Films to be screened are: Devadasu, Missamma, Mayabazar, Bharya Bharthalu, Gundamma Katha, Doctor Chakravarthi, Sudigundalu, Prem Nagar, Premabhishekam, and Manam. Its inaugural event today was held in the presence of the Akkineni family members in Hyderabad.
