In 2024, YouTuber Praneeth Hanumanthu was arrested along with two others for sexualizing a father-daughter relationship on his show. He was accused of normalizing problematic pedo jokes. The arrests were made after Sai Dharam Tej brought the issue to light and urged Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to take action. At that time, the Virupaksha actor tagged every major politician in the Telugu States, including Pawan Kalyan. News channels ran stories on Praneeth and his remarks.

Almost two years after the sensational case that hogged headlines, Praneeth has made a YouTube video criticizing Tollywood's double standards. He named some Telugu films that sexualized teen heroines, asking how nobody had any problem with those movies. He also questioned SDT for being okay with Krithi Shetty, a 16-year-old at the time of its making, being cast in Uppena, which was fronted by the actor's debutant brother. Praneeth then mentioned Chiranjeevi's recent speech where he blamed women for casting couch.

"In the last two years, have you seen any of those who ran a campaign against me fight the wrongs within Tollywood?" Praneeth asked. The YouTuber has stirred a debate.
