Varanasi: Rajamouli pushes limits with massive fight rehearsals

Actor Adivi Sesh recently shared a stunning detail about the work ethic of director SS Rajamouli. The filmmaker is reportedly shooting fight rehearsals five times over for Varanasi. This rigorous process ensures every movement is perfect before the actual cameras roll.

Since Varanasi is a global action-adventure, Rajamouli is putting in more effort than he had for RRR and the Baahubali movies. He has pushed himself over the last one decade.

Varanasi features Mahesh Babu as a rugged explorer in a story blending mythology with a jungle trek. Many sequences utilize advanced VFX to create immersive environments. Action blocks are designed for the massive 1.43:1 IMAX format. This technical choice promises a level of detail rarely seen in Indian cinema. Every stunt undergoes months of planning to meet international standards. Last year, the film was shot in Kenya (Amboseli National Park) and other African nations. This year, most production has taken place on sets in Hyderabad.

April 7, 2027, is when Varanasi will head to theatres.
