Sridhar Varma has been appointed as the new Chairman of Sri Venkateswara Bhakti Channel. The news is that he has paid a courtesy visit to TTD Chairman BR Naidu at his camp office in Tirupati. As is well-known, Naidu has been in the news over the past two years. He offered his blessings and best wishes to the newly appointed chief. SVBC is the official devotional television network run by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams. It broadcasts religious discourses, daily rituals, and cultural programs to millions of Lord Venkateswara devotees worldwide. Sridhar Varma will formally assume charge on August 22. He plans to focus on strengthening devotional programming and expanding the channel's global reach.
During his visit, Varma met TTD Executive Officer Muddada Ravichandra and Tirupati Joint Executive Officer Sharath. He formally received his appointment letter from them. Several leaders attended the meeting, including SAAP Chairman Ravi Naidu, Yadava Corporation Chairman Narasimha Yadav, and Kapu Corporation Director Thota Vasu. Later, Sridhar Varma also met TTD Additional EO Venkaiah Chowdary and TTD Board Member Santharao. Ravichandra stated that the appointment follows a resolution passed at the SVBC Board meeting. He congratulated Varma and expressed confidence that the channel will scale new heights under his leadership.
The SVBC broadcasts primarily in Telugu, with sister channels/feeds in Tamil, Kannada, and Hindi, and reaches devotees in India and abroad via satellite, cable, and online streaming. The appointment to the SVBC chairmanship ends a roughly two-year vacancy.
