The latest addition to the festive lineup is Mahakali from the Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe. Written by HanuMan director Prasanth Varma, this saga is scheduled for a grand release on January 8, 2027. Bhoomi Shetty stars in the titular role alongside Dhurandhar actor Akshaye Khanna.
Meanwhile, actor Sharwanand and director Sreenu Vaitla have locked January 14, 2027, for their upcoming project George Krish. Sharwanand has a proven track record of delivering successful hits during the harvest festival season. His most recent Sankranthi movie, Nari Nari Naduma Murari, was a hit.
Mahakali has no star power going for it. If it is visually striking, the openings will be decent. George Krish will do well if Vaitla reinvents himself.
