Actor Bhanu Chander attended the Madras Film Institute, where several future stars, including Rajinikanth, also trained. In a recent interview, Bhanu Chander revealed that the women from the institute would complain to the head of the institution about Rajini smoking in front of the woman's washroom.
"Rajinikanth was not well-off. He would share his room with 4-5 others. By then, he was a smoker. The women used to complain about him blocking the way to their toilet. Rajinikanth would say that they should mind their business and he his," Bhanu Chander told Ali on Ali Tho Saradaga.
Rajinikanth himself has spoken about developing his signature cigarette flip through extensive practice, beginning around his Bengaluru and early film-training years. He has also acknowledged that he practiced the trick repeatedly. Former classmates from his acting institute have recalled that he spent hours practicing his walk, mannerisms, and cigarette flip.
Rajinikanth awaits the theatrical release of Jailer 2 on October 15.
