How come everyone knew that the Rajamouli-Mahesh Babu movie was titled Varanasi and that the hero will be seen as Lord Rama in a key episode before the makers had made it official? How come, by now, everyone is aware that Allu Arjun's Raaka is a sci-fi entertainer and not something else?
In a recent interview, producer S Naga Vamsi implied that some or the other media person gets a whiff of spoilers from the casual conversations they strike with Assistant Directors or someone else at a tea stall. But this is a safe theory.
Is there an uncomfortable truth behind such high-profile leaks? In the past, film journalists would have access to film sets. Nowadays, no journo is allowed into the sets of most of the big-ticket movies. In the age of smartphones, that would be a disaster. Only a tiny fraction of the media fraternity comes to know of insider info every time. Is it like only they frequent the coffee shops in Krishna Nagar/Film Nagar where an over-enthusiastic AD spills the beans exclusively to them? Of course, no. The truth is too controversial to be spoken of. Suffice it to say that unethical players are involved in all of this.
