The interval twist of Chennai Love Story is touted to be a shocking one. As per the team behind the romantic drama, the reveal will unsettle the viewers to such an extent that it will be difficult for them to shake it off. The scenes that follow in the second half will completely follow from the mood set by that shattering twist.
After the trailer was released on Saturday, speculations have emerged. As per one theory, Kiran Abbavaram's character loses his life in the interval scene. In the second half, Sri Gouri Priya's character, in a state of excessive obsession, goes into a state of terminal depression and keeps imagining his presence around her. This could turn out to be a mix of (female version of) Arjun Reddy and 7/G Brindavan Colony.
As per this theory, the scenes in which Kiran is seen wearing a white shirt (they are present in the trailer) are a product of the female lead's hallucinatory experiences.
If these theories are true, it's going to be a gloomy love story that will have to rely heavily on its songs and performances. The Telugu audience typically don't appreciate sad stories, unless they are supported by arresting melodies. Mani Sharma's songs in Chennai Love Story are decent, but they sound like songs from 20 years ago.
Chennai Love Story will head to theatres on July 24. It will open in theatres with grand premieres on the evening of July 23.
