Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai (Hindi) recorded a steady opening weekend at the Indian box office, aided by a 50% ticket discount offer that remained a major draw for moviegoers.
As per trade reports, after a healthy start on its opening day last week, the rom-com witnessed gradual growth over the weekend. Collections improved on Saturday. "The film collected Rs 8.65 crore on Friday, followed by Rs 9.10 crore on Saturday and Rs 10.76 crore on Sunday. Its total opening weekend collection now stands at Rs 28.51 crore nett in India," trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote.
Bollywood is increasingly exploring dynamic pricing. Chand Mera Dil recently capped ticket prices strictly based on timing: shows before 5:00 PM were locked at a flat Rs 149, while evening shows post-5:00 PM were capped at Rs 199 to bring in early crowds. The producers of Aakhri Sawal launched a dedicated 'Buy 1 Get 1 Free' offer.
