Nag Ashwin has revealed that, many years ago, he approached veteran director Singeetam Srinivasa Rao and offered to help/support him in making a sequel to Aditya 369, which starred Nandamuri Balakrishna in the lead. The sci-fi comedy drama is considered a classic, and is one of the biggest hits in the auteur's career.
The Kalki 2898 AD maker, however, met with Singeetam's reluctance. "Despite my strong desire to help make a sequel to one of my most favourite films, he refused. He told me he doesn't think the story had any potential to be lengthened. He doesn't feel emotionally attached to Aditya 369. He is not calculated in the sense of wanting to capitalize on a past success," Nag Ashwin shared today.
