"Dacoit was written over a period of one year. It was shot for 149 working days over two years. It's a very, very deep film for us," said actor Adivi Sesh, speaking about Dacoit on Wednesday. The film is heading to theatres in multiple languages on April 10.
"Since Dacoit is a first of its kind genre for me, I gave myself enough time to write it. Dacoit is primarily a love story. I don't agree that love stories have gone out of fashion. Isn't Sita Ramam one of the best films of the decade? The audience have the appetite for romances. Dacoit will make you emotional by the end. The film is high on emotions, be it anger or any other emotion. The breaking point in the love story is intense," Sesh remarked.
"Dacoit is not an out-and-out actioner. At the same time, it's not an outright love story. Think of Gems. Inside, it is one thing, while the exterior is something else. Dacoit is like that," the Kshanam actor commented about his Summer release.
"Most of the story is set in the present. The flashback is brief. When two estranged lovers journey together in the present, what realization do they arrive at? That's the crux of Dacoit. The emotions they go through when they face existential crisis is what defines their journey," Sesh revealed.
Producer Supriya Yarlagadda is happy that the shoot finally came to an end on Wednesday. "For Shaneil Deo, this is his debut as a director. Anurag Kashyap is debuting as an actor in Telugu. Adivi Sesh is debuting in a love story," the producer said, talking about the many firsts.
Directed by Shaneil Deo, Dacoit has Mrunal Thakur as the heroine. It will head to theatres on April 10.
