Chennai Love Story's first song, Guruthundaa, was released today at an event in Hyderabad. The love story is headlined by Kiran Abbavaram and Sri Gouri Priya.
Hero Kiran Abbavaram, in his speech, mentioned the entire team: From cinematographer Viswas Daniel to art director Bhaskar Mudavat, from editor Viplav Nyshadam to choreographer Vijay Master. "My character views the female lead as a godly person. Sri Gouri Priya is the perfect fit. Director Ravi Namburii's passion increased my love for cinema. He always kept me excited with his writing. That excitement was intact throughout the making. You are going to witness one of the greatest writings in TFI. Everyone is going to talk about his extraordinary writing. Producer SKN always kept us motivated. He never had questions about the budget. After Raja Vaaru Rani Gaaru, this is the most subtle character I have played. All seven songs in the film are going to be hum-worthy. You are going to watch the movie for the second time just for the songs. It will be a concert-like environment in theatres. Chennai Love Story is going to become one of the greatest love stories ever told on the Indian screen. You are going to love the conversations," Kiran said.
Producer SKN began his speech by talking about his growth from the days of journalism. He thanked Maruthi for making him a producer (with Ee Rojullo) and his childhood friend and Baby maker Sai Rajesh for raising his financial stature like never before. "After a blockbuster like Baby, Sai Rajesh could have teamed up with some other producer. However, he chose to travel with me. After Baby, I mulled over a couple of projects, and ultimately got the Hindi remake of Baby going. It was Rajesh's call to rope in Ravi to wield the megaphone. Ravi has been with us since 2018. He has a great knowledge of cinema. This is a layered story. Kiran Abbavaram digested the depth in the story and immediately okayed the story," SKN noted. The producer shared nostalgic anecdotes on Mani Sharma, one of the biggest music directors from Tollywood. Describing him as a legend, SKN added that he used to dance to his songs in college days.
When the story was narrated to Sri Gouri, she told SKN that it needs guts on both her part and the producers' part to do it. "Every dialogue, every scene in CLS carries strength," the producer shared. He also revealed that the film has been made as a Dolby Cinema-compatible one.
Co-producer Dheeraj Mogilineni described Sai Rajesh and SKN as his "best friends" in the industry. "Baby, our previous collaboration, will always be special in my life. CLS is going to be even more special. Director Ravi Namburii is someone I genuinely trust. He is all set to deliver a true blockbuster. Mani Sharma is someone who used to compose music for the movies of all my favourite heroes. So, he has always been special. After Guruthundaa, six more songs are going to come out. Each of them will be different. Sri Gouri Priya is a Telugu-speaking actress; she is going to become a star after CLS. Kiran okayed this movie on the same day that he listened to the script. He had just scored a hit with KA," Dheeraj shared.
Lyricist Anantha Sriram said that the movie's excellent album is because he and Mani Sharma had set aside their egos. "At the same time, others too set aside their egos and worked in unison. Producer SKN, instead of meddling with the creative aspects, let us do our job. CLS is going to steal your hearts," he added.
Director Ravi thanked Sai Rajesh for tapping his potential. "This is one of the rare romantic films that is being shot over 100 working days," he said.
