Like NTR, Vijay lacks experience. Like NTR, he can blunder.

The historic performance of Tamil superstar Vijay in his political debut has a parallel only in NT Rama Rao. They both stunned the established political establishment in their own ways.

When NTR became the CM of AP just nine months into his political entry, critics mocked him for lacking administrative experience. The lack of practical exposure did affect NTR's standing eventually. His "one-man show" approach marginalized senior cabinet members. He frequently bypassed ministers to talk directly to officials or the public, which created a sense of insecurity among his political allies.

Critics who know Vijay feel that he could repeat NTR's mistakes if he is not cautious. Those with no real-life experience tend to be naive/reckless. They know the bureaucracy is steeped in corruption, but don't know to what extent. The officials Vijay is going to depend on have reached that stage because they are compromised and bought those positions by bribing Ministers/higher-ups. Newbies like Vijay know politicians are scheming and cunning to the core, but don't know that hurting their ego can have serious repercussions.

One of NTR’s most controversial early moves was reducing the retirement age for government employees from 58 to 55. Vijay could do something out of the blue in a similar way in the first year if he receives a wrong piece of advice or thinks with the emotional side of his brain.
