Yash gives a Hollywood-style explanation for Toxic release delay

Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups has been postponed twice this year. It was supposed to be a March 19 release. It was postponed to June 4. A new release date will be announced at the appropriate time.

Speaking to Variety, actor Yash has given a Hollywood-ian reasoning for why the release has been delayed. "There is a fundamental difference between how we release our films in India and they do it in the West. Their films are finished, locked, and then they go into marketing for six months or planned in such a way that you have a lot of time and you decide the release date much in advance," the KGF actor said.

He added that such a thing is not possible in India because of the nature of budgeting/investment involved. "What we do is because the financials doesn’t work in India, we invest a lot of things in the last minute," he told Variety India.

Toxic has been made in both Kannada and English. Directed by Geethu Mohandas, the film co-stars Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Darrell D’Silva, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth and Tara Sutaria.
