Mirzapur: The Movie (Hindi) has opened to excellent collections at the Hindi box-office. The action crime thriller film, directed by Gurmeet Singh, stars Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Divyenndu, Jitendra Kumar and Ravi Kishan.

Those who liked the Amazon Prime Video television series Mirzapur (2018) have flocked to theatres in large numbers. Critics and fans noted that the film successfully retains the trademark merits, raw humor, punchy dialogues, and gritty atmosphere of the series. The film feels larger and louder than the series, benefiting from strong action set-pieces, a solid background score, and visually appealing sequences.

Pankaj Tripathi (Kaleen Bhaiya), Ali Fazal (Guddu Pandit), and Divyenndu Sharma (Munna Bhaiya) received praise for stepping back into their iconic roles. Ravi Kishan's entry as Babbua Yadav emerged as a fan-favorite standout that brings fresh energy to the screen.

A common criticism across reviews is that the movie feels over-long and at times like a "stretched-out OTT episode" compressed into a feature film. Several reviewers mentioned a mid-movie slump, noting that certain sequences are over-explained or slow-paced before picking back up near the pre-climax and climax.

What is the film about? "The battle for Mirzapur's throne escalates as old enemies resurface and new threats emerge. Blood debts must be paid while power-hungry contenders fight to control the city's violent underworld."
