'Jailer': Collections controversy divides fans over stupid poster

Sun Pictures today put out a poster giving a specific box-office figure. The poster says that 'Jailer' grossed Rs 375.40 Cr in its first week (worldwide). This is the best figure achieved by a Tamil film in the history of Tamil cinema.

On the poster, the words 'Tentative - Still Updating' are mentioned. The figure mentioned by the makers of Rajinikanth's movie are, shockingly, lesser than the figure published by box-office trackers. Usually, makers of big-ticket movies make inflated claims. It is up to trade analysts to give the correct picture. This time, the makers of a movie have publicized a lesser figure!

The figure mentioned on the poster is not final. Why couldn't Sun Pictures have waited for a day or two to give the final figure if they wanted to be so honest and diligent?

The poster is stupid for another reason. The online fandom of Rajinikanth has been proudly saying that 'Jailer' has defeated 'Vikram' with ease by crossing the lifetime collections of Kamal Haasan's movie in the first week itself. So, the fans of Kamal are now shaming Rajini's fans on social media for making "false" claims.
