Director Teja displays itch for publicity on election day

Even as the Telangana polls were on, on Thursday, director Teja made an extreme remark. Speaking to the media after casting his vote, the 'Nuvvu Nenu' director opined that those who don't vote are traitors. Ostensibly, he characterized at least 1/4th of Telangana as nothing better than 'Desha drohulu'. Needless to say, the director exhibited his itch to stay in news by making a deliberately controversial remark.

In the past, Teja made similar attempts to be in the news at all costs. He once invited the wrath of Mahesh Babu's fans by saying that the actor had adopted two villages to get tax benefits.

On the work front, Teja recently gave a disaster to debutant actor Abhiram Daggubati. Before the film's release, he announced that he would be teaming up with Rana on a film titled 'Rakshasa Raju'. "Politics and crime are its elements. The easiest reference is 'Godfather' (Hollywood movie). The structure of story-telling is akin to that classic. But the story is entirely different," he said. More than six months later, there is no talk about the project. Ostensibly, Rana doesn't want to work with the out-of-form director.
