'Jaragandi' from 'Game Changer' lacks novelty, appeal

Songs from director Shankar have always been synonymous with novelty. He maintained this track record rather consistently until before his overrated '2.0'. 'Game Changer', his first vintage kind of film in years, marks his return to the commercial vigilante genre. The first song from the Ram Charan-starrer was out today.

From the lyrical video, what is evident is that the picturization is dull. Even though Prabhu Deva's choreography shows a semblance of spark, the staging and the scale of the song are nothing home to write about. It's astonishing that a section of the Tollywood media has been hyping up this song for months. Some of them went to the extent of claiming that the song's budget is Rs 20 Cr. Shankar's songs from two decades ago looked far more opulent.

The art direction of 'Jaragandi' is reminiscent of a song from 'Aparichitudu'. That way, there is no originality left in any way.

Sung by Daler Mehndi and Sunidhi Chauhan, the song is written by Anantha Sriram. It has been composed by Thaman.
