Tamil actor Ganesh Venkatraman became popular among the Telugu audience with his negative role as Andakasurudu in ‘Dhamarukam’. The movie was recently released and running successfully in theaters with positive talk. Although the Telugu audience has seen him in films like ‘Eenadu’ and ‘Aakasamantha’, Ganesh earned good recognition through the role of Andakasurudu. On this eve he spoke to the media and shared his happiness. Here are few excerpts:
Dhamarukam earned me more recognition as an actor
Introducing himself as Mr India 2003, Ganesh said that he likes modeling. Speaking further he said: I did few commercial ads like
L.I.C andTriple X detergent soap. Films are even more interesting to me. In the past I shared the screen space with top stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Mohan Lal, Kamal Haasan and Venkatesh. So far all roles that I have done are good and earned me good image despite being negative roles. ‘Dhamarukam’ earned me more recognition as an actor than my previous films. I thank Nagarjuna garu, RR Venkat garu and director Srinivas garu and would be grateful to them always.
Srinivasa Reddy is the main reason for my success in this film
Srinivasa Reddy garu met me in Chennai and narrated the story to me. I was very impressed with the story and decided to do the role which I was offered. He is a very comfortable director. His attitude and his friendly nature have immensely impressed me. He molded me and my body language as per the character in the film. He is the main reason for my getting recognition among the Telugu audience.
I love challenging roles
I’m open to any kind of role if the story is good. But I personally love to do roles that have emotions and are challenging. I don’t set rules like I should do roles only which are suitable to me.
Ravi Shankar's voice modulation is superb
I was told that dubbing artist Ravi Shankar is super star. His voice modulation is superb. I’m very happy to note that I got a good name as much as him. He has the ability to change the expression instantly as per the dialogue.
I'm playing a software engineer in my forthcoming bilingual film
My forthcoming film is in the combination of Siddharth and Hansika. It’s a bilingual film which is being directed by Sundar C. I’m playing a software engineer in this film. This apart, I’m doing a Tamil film titled ‘Ivan Veramathiri’ under M Saravanan’s direction. In this film which has Vikram Prabhu and Surabhi as lead pair, I’m playing a mass character. Both these movies will be released during next year.
It made me more energetic as the audience cheered in theater
I’ve seen ‘Dhamarukam’ by sitting amidst the audience at Brahmaramba theater in Kukatpally. It made me more energetic as the audience cheered, screemed and whistled in the theater. I heard that the Telugu audience will encourage new talent which became true in my case. I hope they continue to encourage like this forever.
