Hello Samantha, how are you doing?Samantha Special Interview
Hello, I’m doing fine.

What is that you observed this year when compared to last year?
Yeah! I know, last year I was away from films for few months, while I’m enjoying back-to-back successes this year.

What are your comments when asked to watch ‘Ramayya Vasthavayya’?
NTR is different in this film when compared to his past films.  I watched all his previous films.  Harish Shankar portrayed everyone freshly.  The main aspect which the Telugu audiences like the most is two heroines.  Right from hair-style to dressing, I took lot of care regarding me for the sake of this film.

Did anyone chase you during your college days like in the film ‘Ramayya Vasthavayya’?
Hmm…No!.  No one has really chased me because I was not a great figure at that time.

Tell us about your love journey?
I always tell the same thing again and again.  I’m in love.  There is no break-up to my love.  I’ll do anything only after I completely believe in it.  So my belief will keep me strong.

BTW with who are you in love?
It’s suspense!  Nevertheless I’ll make an announcement before I marry.

After falling in love, what kind of feelings do you get?
This industry is insecure.  So I’ll not think that I’m a heroine once the announcement ‘Pack Up’ comes at 6 in the evening.  After that I only think of myself and my house.  So I got associated with a person who thinks like me.  I feel my life will be smooth with a person like him.

Samantha Exclusive Interview Now coming back to films, don’t you think you are doing too many commercial films?
Hmm… People talk both ways. When I take up commercial projects, they comment saying, “Samantha doesn’t know acting”.  At the same time when I do films like ‘Eega’ and ‘Yeto Vellipoyindhi Manasu’, they ask why I’m spoiling my career with these kind of roles despite having golden future in hand with lot of commercial film offers.  Now you tell me what to do?

When are you planning to go to Bollywood?
Why should I go to Bollywood? Anyway, I don’t have such plans now. If possible I may go to Malayalam.  There were several good films which were released there recently.  So I’m in the process of listening to few scripts.  Several concept oriented movies are being made in Tamil and Malayalam.  They are making films with Rs 2-3 crs and earning profits of Rs 15-20 crs.  Isn’t that great?  I wish to see such films in Telugu shortly.

But will Samantha be available for a film worth Rs 2-3 crs?
Why not? If I like the story, I may even not take remuneration and ask for a percentage in the film profits.  If the story is good anything can happen.  But that doesn’t mean that I’m a big hearted to do for free.

Have you ever tried anything like that?
No! I’ve not tried anything till now. ‘Eega’ started off like a small budget film and Rajamouli garu said that the film would be completed in 40 days. But then, as shooting prolonged, the budget increased gradually and the standard of the film also increased. At the time I gave call sheets to ‘Eega’, I got 2-3 offers from big banners with big heroes.  However, I left all of them only with confidence and respect on Rajamouli garu. And my belief has become true.

You are saying that acting in performance oriented films is difficult.  Do you mean that doing a commercial film is easy?
Yes, one has to work hard to do films that have scope for acting.  There will also be pressure while doing those films.  I never used glycerin till now.  So I need to feel more pressure.  But when you take commercial films, one need not put that many efforts.  There is also less risk in these films as percentage of hit is more.

Will the heroine have a share in the commercially hit films?
Yeah definitely! Otherwise why would they take me by shelling out so much money.  Instead they would have gone for some new face, isn’t it?  So I think I too deserve the credit of film’s success.

What are all the things you consider before accepting to do a film?
Story is the main.  So I’ll sign the film only after I listen to it and like it.

Have you learnt anything for the sake of movies?
So far I’ve not done anything of that sort.  But I’ll certainly do it in future and I’m ready to learn indeed. I’m open to script of that genre too.

What are your current projects?
‘Autonagar Surya’, ‘Manam’, a film with NTR and a film under VV Vinayak’s direction.  Apart from this, I’m doing two movies in Tamil.
