The terrific horror entertainer ‘O Stree Repu Raa’ that features Ashish Gandhi, Vamsi Krisna Konduri, Kunal Koushik, Deeksha Panth, Sruthi Mol and Manali Rathod in the lead roles, has made under Reading Lamp Creations banner. ‘Kalpithama…Kachitama’ is the tagline. Ashok Reddy is the director and producer of the film. The makers are planning to release the film on March 11. On this occasion, an interview has been given by the director Ashok Reddy. Here are the few excerpts from his interview.
Please introduce yourself to the readers?
I’m from Ambapuram village in Guntur district. I did MBA in Australia. After that I worked for PWC in Bangalore. While working there, I have directed 2 short films. One is ‘3+4+’ and the other is Jaini’. I acquired practical experience through these two short films. I felt if I choose horror genre it will be in safe zone and therefore chosen horror concept.
The film is set in 1980 backdrop right?
You will find a flashback episode too in 1980 backdrop. The film was extensively shot in the surrounding areas of Hyderabad and at picturesque locations of Horsley Hills.
What is the reason to take up this concept?
In the distance past, some people used to paint a note on their doors that says ‘O Stree Repu Raa’ means 'Hey Lady, Come Back Tomorrow!'. In some places people used to abandon their villages. I wanted to explain this to the present generation. Taking that concept we made the film ‘O Stree Repu Raa’ differently.
Would you like to sum up the story in couple of words?
The story of the film starts from the ghost version. In simple words it is the tory narrated by a ghost. During the shooting, some of our team members are saying that they have seen ghosts.
Tell us about graphics in the film?
We are planning to release the film in 70+ theaters. We didn’t use graphics. Praveen has given lot of support. I got inspired by watching ‘Pizza’ and made this film.

I have readied a script on different backdrop for my next project. I will announce the details soon.
