'Ippudu Kaka Inkeppudu' stars newcomer Hasvanth Vanga, Namrata Darekar and Kathalyan in lead roles. Y Yugandhar is its director. The film will head to the theatres on August 6. In this interview, director Y Yugandhar talks about the movie.

I hail from the West Godavari district. Before becoming a director of this movie, I was a technician and a production designer. I used to be a Production Manager for Srihari garu's movies. When I entered the film industry, it was with the aim of becoming a filmmaker. I was happy to be a production manager because it's a post that handles a lot of departments. I worked as a PM for about 15-20 films, but I have never worked in the direction department before turning a director.

It's a debut movie for both the hero and the heroine. The former is a Telugu guy, while the latter is a Mumbai-based doctor. They have done a great job.

It took me more than 3.5 years to become a director. My efforts paid only just before the pandemic. Even though it was a struggle, I didn't go back to being a production controller. I turned down even an offer from Vyjayanthi Movies.

Coming to 'Ippudu Kaka Inkeppudu', it's a feel-good rom-com that touches upon a sensitive emotion between parents and children. The title suggests that we would have to face the consequences of acts done in haste.

The film is not bold barring one scene. Only one scene is erotic and even it has a certain context. Nobody has tried such an erotic scene before me. We have highlighted it in the trailer and wall posters to attract the youth.

The 'Bhaja Govindam' controversy could have been avoided. It resulted because of the fact that I couldn't foresee it. We have also muted a particular line in the movie voluntarily. It was entirely my call.

If the story is strong, the writer doesn't stop while writing. He doesn't think much about how a scene might be perceived. After watching our movie, a big digital offer came to us. It shows that we have succeeded in our effort to make the right sort of movie.

Our movie has got a valid message for both parents and children. The behaviour of each of them has its set of consequences. Nothing should be done in haste.

During the Goa schedule of our movie, the heroine met with an accident on the second day. It caused us monetary losses to the tune of Rs 30-40 lakh, leading to an excessive budget.

I have six stories ready so far. Each of them belongs to a different genre. The producer of this movie is an industrialist, who is very passionate about movies. He is the biggest pillar of support for our movie. He will be producing two movies per year. Although Covid-19 has put a spanner in the wheel, he is going to go ahead with his plan in the coming years. He will produce at least two or three movies per year.
