Director Kishore Tirumala awaits the theatrical release of 'Aadavallu Meeku Johaarlu'. Starring Rashmika as the heroine, the film also features Khushbu, Radhika Sarathkumar and Urvashi. The film will head to theatres on February 25. In this interview, the director talks about the context of the film, why he picked the genre, why women are going to love it, working with the Sharwanand-Rashmika duo, and more.

This is not the script that I had narrated to Victory Venkatesh garu, with whom I was supposed to do a family entertainer with the same title. The hero's character is somewhat the same but the story is different. The backdrop is the same but the story has been changed.

The women around us give a lot of importance to us. They want to shape our lives with good intentions. Their mindsets are interesting, they seek only small pleasures. They don't make huge demands on their men. I felt that a film should be made as an ode to such women and therefore I made this wholesome family entertainer. This is a film where all characters have their own purpose. Even when a character doesn't talk much, he or she is making their presence felt.

Sharwanand felt that he has been doing movies belonging to other genres. He asked me to narrate a family entertainer. He enjoyed listening to the narration. After he okayed the story, I made some changes and the script was evolved.

The male lead is the only male character amidst many female characters. Their emotions revolve around this guy. I ensured that the execution is as hilarious as what was there on paper. Rashmika Mandanna just wanted to be sure that the execution turns out to be as hilarious as the narration.

I don't let my script be influenced by an actor's previous films. The characters in this film are important in their own way. Each of the characters has a say in the story. The artists I have chosen are capable of conveying little emotions. You will be reminded of the sensibilities of movies like 'Nuvvu Naku Nachav'.

The women in our lives miss us when we are too occupied with our jobs. 'AMJ' is a film for such women. The women will relate to the emotions in the drama and feel that this is a film for them. I became a busy technician just four months after my daughter was born. Six years later, I realized that I and my daughter loved each other but there was a gap between us.

It has been many years since a female-dominated family entertainer was made. That way 'AMJ' is a whiff of fresh air. This is the first time that I have infused entertainment to a great degree. This is a sweet, simple comedy. 'AMJ' is not a slapstick comedy.

Sreekar Prasad garu has edited the movie. He is a vastly experienced technician. I had discussed the script with him before the shoot was begun. I avoided filming unnecessary scenes. Including the credits, the run-time is 141 minutes.

Music is my biggest liking. I can't write the script without listening to the script. And Devi Sri Prasad is an amazing composer. The songs in 'AMJ' take the story forward.

The release date of the movie is the final call of the producers. I haven't discussed anything with them (about the release of 'Bheemla Nayak' on Feb 25).

Doing OTT is a talent in itself. But I am the kind who likes big-screen affairs. I watched 'Murari' 14 times. 'Ninne Pelladatha' and such are also my favourites.

My next film will be with producer DVV Danayya garu. It will be a rom-com and might happen with Naga Chaitanya.
