Kiran Abbavaram's 'Nenu Meeku Baaga Kavalsinavaadini' hits the cinemas on September 9. A commercial entertainer directed by Sridhar Gade, the film is produced by Kodi Ramakrishna's daughter Kodi Divya Deepthi.
Sonu Thakur, a model-turned-actress, is its second female lead. In this interview, she talks about doing the entertainer.
Right from childhood, I wanted to become an actress. I started out as a model and bagged a song in 'Joruga Hushaaruga' in Telugu. To essay a lead role, I had three criteria: it has to feature a noted actor in the lead, it should come from a good director, or it should be produced by a good banner. 'Nenu Meeku Baga Kavalsinavadini' is produced by the daughter of the legendary director Kodi Ramakrishna garu. That's why I picked the script. Moreover, it was exciting to work with Kiran.
The director si really hard working. Producer Deepthi is also focused. As for my co-star Kiran, he is such a cool person to be with. Dancing alongside him was memorable. Although my running time in the movie is less, I enjoyed doing the fun portions that come in the flashback. I have got interesting scenes with Baba Baskar.
Melody Brahma Mani Sharma garu's songs are going to be a special attraction. I am happy to have got to dance to his tunes. The song 'Lawyer Papa' composed by him is going to be loved by the audience.
Since I am experienced as a model, it has been easy. I am glad to have done a role that lets me showcase my dancing skills.
