The film Drinker Sai stars Dharma and Aishwarya Sharma in the lead roles. Produced by Basavaraju Srinivas, Ismail Sheikh, and Basavaraju Laharidhar under the banners of Everest Cinemass and Smart Screen Entertainments, the film is directed by Kiran Tirumalasetty and is based on real events. In this Interview, Aishwarya Sharma, who plays the role of Baghi in the film, shares her excitement about the project. Drinker Sai is set to release on December 27.
"Baghi is a powerful character, and I felt a deep sense of responsibility to portray her authentically," she says. "The role presented a significant challenge, but I embraced it with enthusiasm. I auditioned with a few scenes and was thrilled with my performance, which ultimately secured me the part." Aishwarya believes audiences will connect deeply with Baghi's complex personality.
"My father is a stage actor, and his influence has undoubtedly shaped my career path," she reveals. "From a young age, I aspired to be an artist, initially drawn to dance and music. Acting, however, became my true calling. After completing high school, I moved to Mumbai to pursue formal acting training and began auditioning for roles."
Aishwarya acknowledges the initial challenges she faced with Telugu dialogues, admitting to occasional difficulty understanding what she was saying.
"Working with Hero Dharma has been a wonderful experience," she shares. "He is a kind and supportive co-star, especially when it comes to delivering dialogues, despite his character in the film being quite different from his real personality."
Drinker Sai promises an engaging love story, and Aishwarya expresses her gratitude for being a part of it. "The film also conveys important messages, which I believe will be best appreciated when experienced on the big screen," she hints.
"Baghi is a multifaceted character – innocent yet tough, strict yet somewhat rebellious," Aishwarya describes. "She is a medical student, and her role will include both dramatic and lighthearted moments. I hope the trailer and other promotional materials have given you a glimpse into Baghi's personality."
"The film's soundtrack has already garnered positive feedback," she adds. "I was deeply moved by the sad song. Music director Sri Vasanth has created a beautiful score. While both films explore themes of alcoholism, 'Drinker Sai' presents a more mass-oriented portrayal of the character compared to the classier depiction in 'Arjun Reddy'."
