On the night of 28th Jan 2005 Sekhar Kammula's "Anand" 100 days function was held at Viceroy Convention Center .Dasari Narayana Rao was the Chief guest on this occassion.The guest list included D. Suresh Babu, Ramesh Prasad, Krishna Vamsi, Gangaraju Gunnam, Koti, Jaya Sudha and Tammareddy Bharadwaja. All the crew members & the cast were also present on this occassion. Sekhar Kammula thanked each and every individual who helped him in making Anand film a success. Dasari Narayan Rao appreciated Sekhar Kammula at length. Ramesh Prasad (Prasad Labs) added that he became a fan of Sekhar Kammula after watching this film.

Speaking on the occasion Dasari Narayan Rao said that he stopped attending film related functions but came for this function as it is a genuine hit. He quoted director Sekhar Kammula as the hero of the year 2004.He criticized some of the producers who claim that their film is a super hit a day after its release. They try to cheat the public & finally end up cheating themselves. He praised Anand's success as real and genuine.

Dasari said that Sekhar Kammula met him after he won national award for Dollar Dreams film and shown him the medal he won from the President of India. He met him now after 4yrs to invite him for 100 days function of Anand. Dasari also said that he takes real pride in attending Anand function and speaking about the film. Sekhar Kammula said director is the caption of the ship & he is the real star of any film & Dasari believed it and followed it throughout his career successfully. Dasari also said that hero Raja is sure to become star one day, but it is Sekhar Kammula who would be responsible for the stardom today. Dasari said Telugu industry producers do not trust new directors. To play safe they depend on remakes where stakes are high. He said that we should encourage new talents with original stories.The very point that Sekhar Kammula released the movie with 3 prints at 3 centers shows how confident he was about his film.

Dasari saw a preview show of Anand in New Delhi recently and described Anand as a mind blowing film & was the best film among the recent times. Anand movie was a clean film with the simple story line & said that other directors who make films for youth should watch this movie. He also said that most of the directors do not know the difference between love and lust and they end up making lustful films thinking that they are love stories. Dasari announced that Anand film should be followed as a guide for new generation of directors.

Dasari narrated the scenes which really moved him. The scene in which Anand touches Rupa and Rupa like a typical Telugu girl gets mad at Anand for touching her, was very natural and relates to our nativity. Another scene where Rupa throws Rahul's photo into the bhogi manta establishes that Rupa has erased Rahul from her heart. It is also surprising how Sekhar could run the film based on a single conflict in a very gripping manner. The scene where Rupa gets sentimental about wearing her late mothers saree and her mother in law in turn wants her to wear the saree she bought and gives Rupa ultimatum if she does not oblige her, turns out to be the turning point of the film. The scene where Anand expresses that he finds Rupa's back sexy is really cute. Another scene where , at the time when Anand thinks that rupa is getting Rahul out of her mind and again she gets a call that Rahul's mother has expired and Anand moves back into the darkness shows the poetic aspect of narration.

Overall Dasari has appreciated Music Director Radha Krishna for giving soothening music and Veturi for brilliant lyrics. He gives the credit to the director for making the sets look very natural.

In the end Dasari had advised Hero Raja to stick to small producers and Sekhar Kammula to be very careful while choosing scripts as with this mega success he has to live up to the expectations of the audience. He had also advised Kamailinee Mukherjee to take the path of Jayasudha and Savitri finest actresses of those times.
