After Nagababu, Jagapathi Babu and Paruchuri Venkateswara Rao were elected, a couple of days ago, as the President, Executive vice president and Treasurer, respectively, the elections for the remaining posts of the Movie Artists Association (MAA) were held on 8th September and the results were announced on the same evening.
1. President: Nagababu (unanimous)
2. Executive Vice President: Jagapati Babu (unanimous)
3. General Secretary: Mallikharjuna Rao
4. Treasurer: Paruchuri Venkateswara Rao (unanimous)
5. Joint Secretaries: Ahuti Prasad and Vinod Bala (unanimous)
6. Vice Presidents: Sridhar & Srikanth
7. Executive Committee Members: Ali, Brahmaji, Rajiv Kanakala, Ravi Teja, Benarji, Uttej, Ashok Kumar, Kadambari Kiran, Bangalore Padma, Ayyappa Sharma, Taraka Ratna, Venu, Siva Parvathi, Gowtamraju, Prakash, Sivaji and Dasari Arun Kumar.
Former president of MAA, Mohan Babu extended a warm welcome to his successor Nagababu. "3 years back when my family was facing a crisis the whole film industry stood by us for moral support. We could not thank them enough." Newly elected president of MAA, Nagababu said "I contested for the elections so that I will get a chance to do something for the people who stood by us at that time. I don't consider getting elected unanimously as an achievement. I will be truly happy when I cater to the needs of all the 500 plus artists in this industry. Two years from now when people tell me that I have done a good job, I will consider that as my real victory".
