In what could have easily been a very well organized and well presented awards show in eth recent times the Cine MAA awards were quite a treat to watch. The awards function, held on 23rd March at the Gachibowli stadium in Hyderabad, saw an elite and limited crowd of the Film Industry enjoying the show along with a substantial public gathering. K.Viswananth, Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna, NTR, Allu Arjun, Bhoomika (along with husband Bharat Thakur), Trisha, Charmi and Devi Sri Prasad were some of the prominent faces seen.
The Board of directors for the Cine MAA awards, that included Chiranjeevi and Nagarjuna, took to the stage to unveil the MAA logo. “As we are part of the board of directors we have opted out of the best actor contention” Chiranjeevi said candidly about himself and Nagarjuna.
“This award is a tribute to the audiences who have made Happy Days successful” director Sekhar Kammula said receiving an award for his breezy hit Happy Days “It is moments like this that prove that our industry is moving in the right direction.”
The whole stadium broke into a huge applause and a standing ovation when veteran film maker K.Viswanath walked onto the dais to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award. A beautiful rendition of classics from director Viswanath’s films, by four young girls (contestants of MAA TV’s Padalani Vunndi) added more emotion to the moment.
Chiranjeevi appreciated NTR’s dedication, of his best actor Award to the late Sobhan Babu and was all praises for the young actor.
Sizzling performances by Udaya Banu, Mumaith Khan, Sraddha Arya, Ayesha, farzana, Nikitha, Devi Sri Prasad, Sindhu Menon and Ayesha added spice to the event and gave the audiences wholesome entertainment.
