Sitara Satellite Channel launched their first ever Telugu Cinema Awards called “1st Annual Vivel Sitara Awards” on Sunday, the January 25, at Novotel in Hitex, Hyderabad. Many prominent film personalities like Dr Dasari Narayana Rao, Dr D Ramanaidu, Allu Aravind, Raghavendra Rao, Dil Raju, Sreenu Vytla, Krishna Vamsi, Ramya Krishna, Jr NTR, Ram Charan Teja, Allu Arjun, Ravi Teja, Genelia, Allari Naresh, Krishnudu, Srihari, Devisri Prasad, Sirivennela Seetarama Sastry, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Paruchuri Gopalakrishna, graced the occasion.
While Dr Dasari Narayana Rao was felicitated with NTR Lifetime Achievement Award, Dr D Ramanaidu received the LV Prasad Award for his services to Telugu Film Industry.

The best feature film award went for ‘Gamyam’, the best actor award to Ravi Teja (Neninthe), best actress - Genelia (Ready), best director - Krish aka Radhakrishna (Gamyam), best music director - Mickey J Mayor (Kotha Bangaru Lokam), beat comedian - Dr Brahmanandam (Ready, Krishna), beat villain - Supreeth (Neninthe), best supporting actor - Srihari (King), best supporting actress – Jayasudha (KBL), best debut actor – Nani (Ashta Chemma), best debut actress – Madhavi Latha (Nachchavule), best screenplay – Bhaskar (Parugu), best choreographer – Prem Rakshit (Kantri), best lyric writer – Sirivennela (KBL).

Best film – Kotha Bangaru Lokam, best actor – NTR (Kantri), best actress – Anushka (Chinthakayala Ravi), best director – Sreenu Vytla (Ready), best music director – Devisri Prasad (Jalsa, Ready), best debut actor – Krishnudu (Vinayakudu), best debut actress – Swetha Basu Prasad (KBL), Star Sitara Jodi – Ram and Genelia (Ready), best FM song – My Heart is Beating (Jalsa).
Varun Sandesh, Kajal Agarwal, Kamna Jetmalani and Mumaith Khan hosted the show. The colourful event was entertained with few dances including the classical dance performance by former actress cum dancer Shobana.
The award function would be aired in Sitara Channel on February 1 at 7.30 PM.
