Backed on the success of last year's Book Donation Drive which resulted in the setting up of 6 libraries across several schools catering students from low income groups, K Raheja Corp's Mindspace, is back with the 2nd leg of the drive, under its CSR initiative Teaching Tree. Kicking it off with an interesting book reading session, actress Jenny Honey read out some very heart-warming stories to the kids from NGO Teach for India, in an interactive session that was open to imaginative and creative thinking, allowing kids to explore the world of storytelling and book reading. The two week drive, which kicked off today, will culminate on the 28th June, post which the books will be handed over to the NGO.
Striving to break last year’s record which stood at 6000 books and tons of stationery, and galvanizing local community support, K Raheja Corp's Mindspace has urged its own employees as well as clients operating out of the Business Park to come forward and patronize the drive by donating already read books or blank books which the students can benefit from. This will be in addition to the support that K Raheja Corp provides to the NGO. To ensure ease of purchase, for those who wish to donate new books, K Raheja Corp’s group company Crossword Bookstore has also been roped in and will be setting up stalls inside Mindspace. Drop boxes are placed at each building lobby at Mindspace, to ensure ease of dropping off of books meant for the discerning students.
Speaking on the initiative, Mr. Shrawan Kumar Gone, Director Operations, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, K Raheja Corp said, “This initiative aligns and supports a broader vision of empowering the next generation through education. The Book Donation Drive is one of our several initiatives which endeavour to do away with education inequality, by offering the joy of reading to children who do not have the resources.
