St. Peters Engineering Students Create flying Robo Bird 'Ornithopter'

“ORNITHOPTER”- A ROBO FLYING BIRD-A FIRST OF ITS KIND BY AN ENGINEERING COLLEGE IN TELANGANA.

SHOWCASES-ORNITHOPTER-“THE ROBO BIRD” AT THEIR COLLEGE ANNUAL TECHNICAL & CULTURAL FEST “SPECFIESTA-2015”

Students of St. Peters Engineering College Showcased their Innovation- “An Ornithopter” at their college annual technical cultural fest- Specfiesta-2015. Ornithopter is an aircraft that flies by flapping its wings like a bird and is controlled by a Remote- The students named the Ornithopter as “Robo-Bird”. The Innovation is being termed as Robo-Bird, because-Ornithopter is made of light fiber material which is controlled by 4-channel remote-to navigate its flight, control wings and to control directions.

Ornithopter named Robo Bird is the idea of the students of St.Peters Engineering College, the making of robo bird was inspired by Mr.Nanda Kumar of Chennai who has spent 14 years in studying about Ornithopters and its manufacturing- Mr. Nanda Kumar hails from Chennai and was present on the occasion to see students fly their first flight at their college.

The Idea become instrumental in the Pie Innovation Labs created by St. Peters Engineering College at their campus, in which student ideas are encouraged and made feasible by management.

On the Occasion-Mr. T. V Reddy Correspondent St.Peters Engineering College said that the innovations, Research & Development are the most important terms today, to be a successful & employable Engineers, that’s why we created Pie Innovation labs at our campus. He added that it feels great to see the students come up with such great idea’s which are feasible and can be used in many works.
The “Specfiesta-2015”-also showcased many innovations and great ideas-some of the innovations showcased at the Specfiesta-2015 were Hovercraft race, Drag race by student created drag cars, quadcopters, robo race and many such innovations & creative ideas was showcased by students of St.Peters Engineering College at Specfiesta-2015.
