Come, walk into and explore my tranquil world…….
I continue my journey in each canvas exploring perspective and space. I invite the viewer to “walk into” my canvas—into my calm make-believe world.

The eye is drawn into the depths of my subjects—to explore the hidden nooks and corners of temple halls, rows of carved pillars and ancient doorways.

Textures as well as light and shadow continue to be integral to my works. I use mainly the palette knife to create varying textures. The colours I use are bright and happy-I create moods which are upbeat. There are suggestions of joyous occasions and festive moods—reds and oranges in the sun paintings and children playing and darting between pillars.

The series WITHIN MY REACH is a step forward in this journey of space and depth along with an element of dreams and fantasy. Women and young girls turn their back to the mundane worries of the world and walk into their place of solace, into tranquil interiors whish promise rest and shade. Faint mysterious clouds float softly with hidden motifs between them—butterflies ,kites ,paper planes, toys, books etc .These signify hidden dreams and hopes—dreams of freedom, of joy, of success, dreams of a better tomorrow, happy childhood memories etc…. Little girls dart between the pillars playing hide and seek with their dreams---some reach out to play with their imaginary motifs. This series has a feeling of hope ,a feeling that all your dreams are “within your reach”….

The series FIRE IN THE SKY is a dramatic series which captures the vibrant moods and colours of the sun using thick bold strokes in blazing reds, oranges, yellow and crimson. Magnificent forts, palaces, temple gopurams and forests are all framed against the fiery sky. Here again there is a feeling of space and distance.

Each of my works invites you into a world of happiness, fantasy, warmth and colour.
