A unique and one of its kind facility – Kshetra, is an independent and assisted living facility for the seniors. Ms Nicola Watkinson, Senior Trade & Investment Commissioner, Minister Commercial (South Asia), Australian Trade Commission (Australian Government) formally inaugurated ‘Kshetra’ on Monday at Moinabad, Rangareddy District. Dr. K.R. Gangadharan, Founder and Director of Heritage Elder Care Services (P) Ltd. & Director, Kshetra and Ms. Pavithra Gangadharan, Director, Kshetra were present on the occasion.

Kshetra is a home away from home for seniors who prefer a hassle-free lifestyle and desire to live in a calm and caring environment at an affordable monthly payment. It offers spacious accommodation, elegant common rooms and a multitude of services with due attention given for safety and convenience of residents, capable of independent living and those in need of assisted living. To make the inmates comfortable and cozy, the facility combines housing with personal support services like housekeeping, meals and laundry. The staff is trained in proper personal care techniques including bed, bath and wheelchair assistance and personal hygiene assistance. Kshetra has common meeting areas like the garden, the lounge and the dining hall, where inmates can socialize and interact, which is vital for inmates mental activity and happiness.

Ms. Nicola Watkinson, inaugurating the facility said, Kshetra is aptly and innovatively designed for the comfort and convenience of seniors, utmost care has been taken in building the facility to address their needs. Kshetra integrates all requirements of elders and mirrors developments seen in USA and Australia. With so many people working overseas from your country, a facility like this for their parents is highly beneficial. Aged care is very common in my country and Australia can be a small part of a growing elder care industry here in India, she said. Aged care has great potential for collaboration between Australia and India, as Australia has several companies with expertise and can come and invest here, she added

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Gangadharan, said Heritage Elder Care Services, has extensive expertise in elder care, being the first organization to bring geriatric care into focus in Hyderabad way back in 1994 by establishing a geriatric care unit followed by home care services for elders in 1995. He said Kshetra is a facility for elders to age with grace. It is of great convenience to elders whose children are abroad or away from home, those requiring constant assistance like with Parkinson disease or needing post hospitalization care etc. Those elders who have difficulty in taking care of their large homes can lead a happy, safe and secure life in this compact facility here. The centre being on the city outskirts and surrounded by greenery is pollution free with fresh air to breath. Kshetra is a destination for healthy living with a superior quality of life for seniors. We are looking for joint venture with Australian companies who have extensive expertise in elder care, he added.

The recent trend of nuclear families has created a great need for elder homes. Heritage which has earned a name through its niche services in elder care has launched Kshetra to address this ever increasing need. Kshetra is designed to ensure convenience and safety of the residents while promoting their dignity and independence, says Dr. Gangadharan.
