6000 CYCLISTS AT INDIA'S BIGGEST CORPORATE CYCLING EVEN THIS INDEPENDENCE DAY
The Atlanta Foundation (TAF), a not-for-profit organization, along with prominent industry forums namely NASSCOM, ITsAP, FICCI, TiE and AMCHAM and with the support of its charity partner United Way of Hyderabad (UWH) brings India's biggest corporate cycling event, The Freedom Ride - 2013 at the Gachibowli Stadium. Our prime sponsors include APIIC, Hartex Products, KonyLabs, Diebold, ADP, and Tech Mahindra. Our associate sponsors are HSBC, BIMTECH, Pega Systems. Our radio partner is Radio City 91.1FM.
Mr. Ramesh Kaza of Bank of America points out, "I am very excited. We bring in the charity component of the ride and this is an excellent opportunity for companies to donate money to serve the community and so cycle while doing some charity."
The ride is in its 5th year. Participants include ADP, Google, GE, Deloitte, Broadridge, Invesco, DuPont, CA, Infosys, TCS, Wells Fargo, Franklin Templeton, and many more which shows how cycling is catching up in the city.
Mr. Jayesh Ranjan, MD of APIIC, says, "The APIIC along with the GHMC and the Cyberabad Police, and cycling pioneers like The Atlanta Foundation and HBC will build a 30 kms track in the Cyberabad area and encourage a cycling culture here."
The ride will have distance options of 66Kms (equal to the number of years of Freedom). This starts at the stadium, goes outside and ends at the stadium.
The shorter distances of 2KMs++ will be within the stadium complex.
• 66Kms riders will receive a medal and certificate while the rest of the riders will get a certificate.
Mr. Raman Garimella, AP State Champion Cyclist, "When I was in school, the ritual was to attend the flag hoisting at school. In college, we slept through Independence Day, but now my ritual is to attend the Freedom Ride every August 15 and I hope this ritual catches on with the entire Hyderabad
Another highlight of this event is the exclusive women cycling team spreading the message of 'Strong Woman, Strong Nation'. As Mrs. Suchitra Ella, Joint Managing Director & Co-Founder of Bharat Biotech, says, "This is a great opportunity for the Indian Women Network of Cll and other corporate participants - both men and women to come and ride not only to celebrate freedom but to give back to society.
There is also an exclusive kids' team called, "Strong Youth, Strong Nation''. Also, catch 30 pro-cyclists race with
each other for a big cash prize at the Freedom Criterium Race. This race is organized in association with the
District Cycling Association of Hyderabad, affiliated to the Cycling Association of Andhra Pradesh & the Cycling
Federation of India.
In addition to all of this, play a new game - Diebold Kurrecy Challenge where you need to match 66 currencies to 66 countries' flags spread across the venue. This game is sponsored by Diebold. The winner With the maximum correct answers, wins a surprise gift.
But what truly sets this event apart is its social edge. The goal is to raise awareness and funds for the education of under-privileged students, namely -

2. Siddique Nagar Government Primary School
3. Gachibowli Primary School
4. CNN Tanda Primary School
5. The Atlanta Foundation's primary mission is to support the education of the students of the above mentioned schools. Since the Foundation has a No-Donation Policy, these rides help in raising funds for these students. The Freedom Ride provides a unique cycling experience with a chance to make a positive difference to those who realty need it.
