Being Women and BWB Telangana's 1st Women's Car Rally Press Meet

'Being Women' - an NGO working towards empowering women - and Shadan Institute of Medical Sciences, will host the most colourful and first of its kind 'Women Driven Vintage Car Rally' in the newly formed state - Telangana, to raise Road Safety Awareness on August 2nd 2015 (Sunday) at 9:00 AM at People's Plaza, Necklace Road. The details of the rally was announced by Ruchika Sharma, Mrs. South Asia International 2014 & Founder President, Being Women, Dr. Dinesh raj Mathur, Dean . Shadan institute of medical sciences. Teaching hospital and research centre & Dr. A.Y. Chary, Dean Dr.VRK women's medical college,teaching hospital and research centre. at a press conference on Thursday. The Rally will be flagged off by Sri Naini Narsimha Reddy, Hon'ble Home Minister, Telangana State & Sri Mahendar Reddy, Hon'ble Transport Minister, Telangana State.

Over 30 vintage cars of British and Nizam era, driven by women form 'Being Women' and doctors, Post Graduates, Internees and students of Shadan Institute of Medical Sciences, will be elegantly strutting down the aisle - the Necklace Road, presenting a visual treat for the citizens and bystanders. The rally is being organised for working towards two noble causes - to raise awareness about road safety and women empowerment.

The increasing vehicular population, more and more people opting for personal vehicles, care a damn attitude for traffic rules and not so uncommon road rages have alarmingly raised the incidence of accidents and made driving perilous in Hyderabad. This rally with the theme - "My City My Safety My Responsibility" will encourage people to resort to safe driving, pool personal vehicles, use public transport as far as possible and follow traffic rules.

We are encouraging women to participate in this rally to bring road safety awareness in the entire family, besides trying to reduce the air and noise pollution and fossil fuels usage, says Ruchika Sharma.

The participant drivers and the cars will be judged and rewarded with prizes in various categories including:
1. "Best traffic rules" followed cars
2. Best decorated car
3. Best maintained car
4. Best dressed group
5. Best disciplined car on road
6. Best parked car
7. Best selfie with car award
8. Best peace loving (Less honking) car
