‘Vedam’ that has unique concept and unique combination of actors is directed by Jagarlamudi Radhakrishna aka Krish. It’s being jointly produced by Shobu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni under Arka Media Works banner.
Krish, who shot to fame in Tollywood through his first movie ‘Gamyam’ is all set to entertain the Telugu people with yet another movie under relatively different concept away from mundane masala products. The director who was running from pillar to post to sell the idea of ‘Gamyam’ ultimately clicked through his father’s courtesy which went on to fetch him the best director award. With these heavy expectations he has conceptualized a new theme involving five different characters with five different storylines.
The confidence on the director is such that established stars like Allu Arjun, Manoj Kumar Manchu, Anushka and Manoj Bajpai along with the Miss 2009 Deeksha Seth and a new face Balayya have agreed to do the movie. So in this multi-starrer film Allu Arjun does a role of ‘cable operator’ with a nick name ‘Cable Raju’. Deeksha’s abilities to sizzle on silver screen could well be under test against the well established naughty boy Allu Arjun as well as other experienced stars including Anushka.
Mohan Babu’s son, Manoj Kumar Manchu, who is bubbling with the success from ‘Bindaas’, is playing a budding ‘Rock Star’ under the ‘Vivek Chakravarthy’. The Bollywood actor Manoj Bajpai is playing a muslim guy by name Raheemuddin. It is widely learnt that Krish had spent special efforts in identifying Balayya who plays a role of an old man in the film. Anushka is essaying a prostitute by name Saroja and having a separate story line. The lady who has proved her abilities through memorable roles in ‘Arundathi’, has been essaying different characters and proving the money’s worth. Here, the role of a prostitute is something new for her which will certainly exhibit her hidden potential. So the movie will heavily depend on her role also.
Regarding the music in this film, MM Keeravani’s music plays a significant role. His music conjures the images and mood without even having to see the visuals for which they were conceived.
The director who bagged best director award through his first ever film has changed the track towards commerciality and also has attempted to create a niche for him. Going by the past records of Allu Arjun and Anushka as well as the capabilities of the music director MM Keeravani and cinematographer VS Gnana Sekhar, will ‘Vedam’ generate the ripples similar to ‘Gamyam’?
