After Pelli Choopulu and before Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi, director Tharun Bhascker was actively engaged by producer D Suresh Babu to work on a script for Victory Venkatesh. Nothing concrete worked out. Even after ENE, nothing could be finalized. The script was named Deccan Derby and it has a punting-related plot. Tharun feels that the time is ripe for the script to be translated onto the celluloid.
The question is, will Venkatesh show interest in the "multiplex" director at this juncture in his career. After Sankranthiki Vasthunam, Venkatesh seems to be more interested in commercial cinema of the kind Anil Ravipudi is known for. After Trivikram's Aadarsha Kutumbam, he will team up with Ravipudi probably. Drishyam 3 and a two-hero film with Balakrishna are also on the cards. Considering the line-up, a classy filmmaker like Tharun Bhascker, who hasn't delivered big-scale hits, might have to wait a little longer.
