Venky enters into 25th year of Telugu Film Industry

For ‘Victory’ Venkatesh, now in his 25th year of stardom, success is not a destination but a journey. One of the few Tollywood heroes who has only hits to his credit, Venkatesh has always made the right moves, the hero may be God here, but Venkatesh insists that he is not one to be tangled in the “image” business.

‘Victory’ Venkatesh because he has the distinction of giving most consecutive hits than any other hero.

His awards showcase is filled with 7 Nandi awards and 6 Filmfare awards in a career of 62 films. Venky has offered variety in his roles ranging from action, comedy, love and emotion,the actor the reason for the low profile he has been maintaining for the past few years and pat comes the reply — “kids”. A doting dad to four children, Venkatesh says spending time with them is his favourite pastime. “I love having a big family. Fortunately for me, every time I had a child, I was injured on the sets! This was a blessing in disguise as I got to spend more time with them. Especially in showbiz, we wear so many masks, but around children, we can be ourselves. They bring out the best in us.”

His love for his family also extends to his two nephews Daggubati Rana and Naga Chaitanya who are all set to take on Tollywood now.  They needn’t worry much, as there is room for everyone in this industry. Beyond that, experience will teach them their own lessons.”

A spiritually inclined person, Venkatesh keeps himself busy with his religious books. “We should be able to balance our spiritual and material life. I read the principles of Ramana Maharshi, Ramakrishna, Vivekananda, Gita, Osho et al to keep myself rooted to the purpose of existence.”

Venky is currently working in the sequel to ‘Chandramukhi’. Titled as ‘Nagavalli’, he will be seen acting with five heroines including Anushka and Richa. Venky is also in talks with other directors. One prospective project is a comedy entertainer with writer-director Trivikram, who wrote the dialogues of Venky’s ‘Nuvvu Naaku Nachavu’ and ‘Malleswari’!
