Allu Arjun-Tamannah starrer ‘Badrinath’, which was directed by VV Vinayak under Geetha Arts banner was released on June 10th and is said to be going steady with its box office collections. On this occasion a press meet was organised at the production office where Allu Aravind spoke to the media.

Allu Aravind said, “Badrinath collected a sum of Rs 16.5 crores in 3 days of its release. While it collected R 14.15 crores in Andhra Pradesh, it is Rs 1.6 crores in Karnataka and Rs 75 lakhs in Kerala. All the theaters that screened Badrinath movie saw houseful collections for Morning Shows on Monday. This rarely happens otherwise. It took atleast one day to realize for those who came to theaters expecting it to be a mythological film imagining on par with ‘Magadheera’. But later after understanding the actual content in the film the audience is thronging to theaters. We are very happy about that.”

Speaking about the film ‘Badrinath’ he added, “Arjun has a special bonding with Himalayas right from his 1st film ‘Gangotri’ which was directed Raghavendra Rao. Later ‘Desamuduru’ was shot for 25 days in Himalayas and now ‘Badrinath’. The director is very lucky to shoot a film on the backdrop of a pilgrimage. Not all will get the opportunity to visit the pilgrimage Badrinath. So the people can get that experience by watching this film.”

Regarding Badrinath contest he announced, “We are planning to conduct few competitions related to the film ‘Badrinath’. The winners of this contest will be taken to the Badrinath pilgrimage. It took some time for the audience to understand the movie since they compared it with ‘Magadheera’. As per the collections, ‘Magadheera’ collected Rs 1.26 crores more than ‘Badrinath’. I’m confident that this movie will become one of the top four films in the industry.”
