Sunil who started his career as a comedian, then successfully turned as a hero and earned a special image for himself with films like ‘Andala Ramudu’, ‘Maryada Ramanna’ and now ‘Poola Rangadu’ is celebrating his 28th birthday on Tuesday. On this occasion he had a brief chit chat with the media.
Sunil said, “At one point of time when I was a comedian I gave five call sheets in a day, but now as a hero I’m commiting my entire time for one film. Even though my status is changed, the work has not changed and my priority as well. A comedian can impress the audience just by acting in four to five scenes in a film. However the hero will carry the entire burden of entertainment on his shoulder. He has to focus on the scenes that he is not involved also. Hence I feel the hero’s job is difficult. As a comedian I enjoyed every bit of my job, while it’s not the same when playing the role of a protagonist. That’s why I’m open for comedy roles also. Of late I’ve been idle for about 10 days. So I requested Trivikram to give me a good role in his film, but he adviced me not to change my pattern and simply focus on the hero roles.” Speaking about his latest film, the remake of ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ he said, “I saw the Hindi version ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ and liked it very much. But my character in the Telugu version will be quite contrast to that of Madhavan’s role. The director added extra comedy to my character. I’m being very careful in choosing comedy oriented roles and decided not to try anything without the comedy touch.”
