Ajith’s latest film ‘David Billa’ directed by Chakri Toleti was released on Friday, the 13th July and got good response. On this occasion director
Chakri Toleti spoke to the media personnel on Monday and shared his views.
Thanking the audience for making the film successful Chakri said, “The idea of making ‘David Billa’ came from the thought ‘Every Don has a history’. Actually I never had the plan of doing prequel to ‘Billa’. It was Ajith’s wish to do so. Since I liked his idea I went ahead and prepared the script. Showcasing the journey of the hero from common man to underworld Don, the action scenes were designed first with hand, then with knife and in the end with guns. All weapons used in the climax scenes are original. The highlights of the film are Ajith’s performance in action sequences without dupes, Yuvan Shankar Raja’s music and background score and Sarath Mandav’s dialogues.”
About shooting of the film he said, “We shot this film for about 110 days in Hyderabad, Vizag, Goa and Georgia using latest technology. The Government of Georgia supported us a lot for shooting the film. The story demanded us to shoot the film on par with Hollywood standards. That is also one of the reasons why we showed Ajith stylishly. The film became a big hit in Tamil also. Ajith personally called me and congratulated.”
“It was a real challenge to work with big stars like Kamal Haasan and Ajith. I was very comfortable working with them. I learned the difference between commercial and non-commercial from Kamal sir”, Chakri said about his work experience with Kamal Haasan and Ajith.
The directori concluded saying, “I’m planning to do a straight film in Telugu but it may take some time. I casually met Mahesh Babu, so I’m yet to speak with him on anything.”
