Telugu technician gets National award for a Tamil film

The only Telugu technician whose work has been recognized by the jury of 59th National Film Awards 2011 is editor Praveen aka Kuchipudi Latha Praveen, that too for a Tamil film titled ‘Aranya Khandam’ directed by SP Charan. He started his career as an editor in ETV New Video Editing department in 1995 and established himself as editor with the training he got from ETV technicians. Expressing his happiness editor Praveen said to the local news magazine, any award would make one feel happy and the prestigious national award will only double the happiness. Unfortunately this technician has so far worked for only one Telugu film ‘Kasko’. When asked the reason, he replied saying that he could not focus on Telugu films since he was busy in Tamil film industry. However, he is open to work for Telugu films provided he gets good offers.
