John Kottoly, known for his versatile acting and subtle performances in films like 'Manu', 'Falaknuma Das', 'Raktham' etc, died of a cardiac arrest on Tuesday morning. He was part of many acclaimed short films, including Tharun Bhascker's 'Sainma'.
He was last seen in the Telugu web-series 'GOD'. National award winning director Rajesh Touchriver and his wife, 'Padma Shri' Sunita Krishnan expressed shock at the death of John Kottoly and said that he was a passionate actor, who knew his craft well. They rushed to the departed soul's Kukatpally residence after knowing the news.
"Shocked at the demise of John. I can't believe it. Action was all about passion for John and he never got enticed by the glamour of the entertainment world. He wasn't lured by money but became an actor just because he was devoted to the craft. He gave a superb performance on par with senior actors in our movie 'Raktham'. He was a workaholic. He was associated with a corporate company. He is survived by a 9 year old daughter. It was his parents' wedding anniversary today. He went to the Church in the morning", Sunita Krishnan added.
