In what can be called an epic piece of news, Amitabh Bachchan has joined the cast of the Prabhas-Deepika Padukone film, to be directed by 'Mahanati' maker Nag Ashwin. On Friday, the makers of the multi-lingual production revealed the casting coup with excitement.
Vyjayanthi Movies said that the legendary Big B would be essaying a pivotal role in the yet-to-be-titled film. “The late legendary Shri NT Rama Rao was an admirer of Shri Amitabh Bachchan and had even acted in the Telugu remakes of a few of his superhit Bollywood films. Shri NTR and I had watched the landmark film ‘Sholay' several times when it ran for over a year at NTR's Ramakrishna Theatre. After all these years, it is truly a glorious and immensely satisfying moment for me to welcome Indian cinema’s greatest icon, Shri Bachchan to be a part of this prestigious movie under our banner, Vyjayanthi Movies,” C Aswini Dutt of Vyjayanthi Movies said.
Nag Ashwin revealed that Big B would be playing a full-length role in the movie. “I feel lucky and blessed that Bachchan Sir has selected our film among the many choices he has. It is a full-length role, which we believe will do justice to the legend that he is,” he added.
Prabhas is delighted that Big B is on board. He took to his social media pages and said that it's a dream come true to be going to share screen space with Amitabh.
The entertainer, rumoured to be a sci-fi, will arrive at the cinemas in 2022.
