The Active Telugu Film Producers Guild on Monday issued a statement days after a few members of the Telangana Film Theatres Association criticized actor Nani over the direct OTT release of 'Tuck Jagadish'.
In its statement, the Guild said that the prerogative of the mode of a film's release rests with the producer always. "To personally attack a producer or an actor just because they chose to release a movie on a digital platform is not acceptable," the statement said.
The statement also alleges that the exhibitors have always taken a unilateral approach and never cooperated with the producers in sorting out some of the issues faced by the industry. It stated that the exhibitors have always neglected mid and small movies.
