'RRR', 'KGF 2' effect: Other industry actors are doing a blunder!

The 'RRR' and 'KGF 2' mania teaches several lessons to the superstars in Bollywood and Kollywood, cinema observers are saying. They are of the view that a film like 'KGF 2' wouldn't have been possible if Yash had charged Rs 100 Cr or so as remuneration at the start. The production quality would have come down as the producer would not have been ready to spend huge monies on action blocks. Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay demands Rs 80 Cr as remuneration, something the IT department confirmed after raids on the producer of 'Master' even before the release of 'Master'.

In his tweet, Bollywood trade analyst Sumit Khadel remarked, "The main problem with most of the Hindi event films is that 40-50% of the entire budget are spent on actors and director's fee. That's the reason in most of these films, we can't see the huge budget on screen. The film industry must think about it. Quality shouldn’t be compromised at any cost."

It's true that extremely high remunerations are affecting the quality of films. 'Agnyaathavaasi' was made on a very high budget but the visuals just didn't reflect the budget. The reason is obvious: Pawan Kalyan's remuneration was huge. So, the problem is not limited to the Hindi and Tamil industries.

Recently, Karan Johar lamented that heroes' remuneration in Bollywood shocks him most of the time.
