Padma Shri recipient attacks Allu Arjun

Allu Arjun and his movie Pushpa have been criticized in strong terms by author, spiritual master Garikapati Narasimha Rao. Rao, who recently received the Padma Shri honour from the Government of India, accused the film of glamorizing criminal activities.

"In the film, the hero is a smuggler. And he says Thaggede Le. This attitude is picked up by the impressionable age group. Who is answerable if someone corrupted by Pushpa thrashes an innocent person and says Thaggede Le?" Garikapati said.

He added that he is angry at the film for showing a smuggler as the hero. "This term Thaggege Le has become some sort of Upanishad for many," he added.

Garikapati suggested that films like Pushpa lionize the criminal protagonist throughout the length of the film and do some gymnastics in the last five minutes as a token.
